Dr. Meltem Refiker

I am a dedicated cardiologist with over 23 years of experience. After completing my medical education at Osmangazi University in Eskişehir in 2001, I pursued my cardiology specialization at the renowned Ankara Yüksek İhtisas Hospital, one of Türkiye’s most respected cardiology institutions. In both 2012 and 2024, I obtained Board Certification in Cardiology from the Turkish Society of Cardiology. To further enhance my skills, I trained in Enhanced External Counterpulsation (EECP) at the University of Pittsburgh, gaining expertise in this cutting-edge treatment for cardiovascular diseases.

 

Over the years, I have held several prominent roles, including Head of the Cardiology Department at Yüksek İhtisas University from 2019 to 2022, where I mentored future medical professionals and contributed to key research in the field. Currently, I also work as part of the heart transplantation team.

 

My clinical expertise spans heart failure, hypertension, valvular heart diseases, pregnancy-related heart conditions, cardio-oncology, arrhythmia, and advanced echocardiography. I am deeply committed to both clinical excellence and research, with a focus on advancing the treatment of cardiovascular diseases in Türkiye and beyond.

 

As a member of the Turkish Society of Cardiology, the EuroAsia Heart Failure Society, and the European Society of Cardiology, I remain actively involved in the latest developments in cardiology. My passion lies in improving patient outcomes and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in heart care.
